Rebeca Pelayo Carvajal

Rebeca Pelayo Carvajal is a third-year pharmacy student at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a Minor in Medical Spanish at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2019. She is actively involved in multiple professional and service organizations that reflect her dedication to advancing the pharmacy profession and supporting underserved populations.
Rebeca currently serves as President of the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, where she works to foster leadership development and collaboration among student pharmacists. She is an active member of APhA, where she helped initiate Operación Farmacia, serving as both Co-Founding Junior and Senior Chair. Through this initiative, she has focused on expanding culturally competent outreach and health education for Spanish-speaking and underserved communities. In addition to these organizations, Rebeca is actively involved in other professional organizations such as the Director of Communications in the Industry Pharmacist Organization, Fundraising Chair for the Never Generic Podcast, and the Accountability Committee Co-Chair of the Phi Delta Chi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.
Rebeca was also appointed by the Dean of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy to serve on the Board of Ethical and Professional Conduct. Through this role and her broader involvement, she remains passionate about improving medication education, adherence, and equitable access to care for diverse patient populations. She looks forward to beginning her fourth-year clinical rotations, where she hopes to continue developing as a patient-centered and service-driven pharmacist.
