Thomas E. Menighan Leadership Scholarship

Mercer University College of Pharmacy

Kap Paull is a third-year student pharmacist at Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia, with a strong commitment to advocacy and health equity. She currently serves on the APhA-ASP National Policy Standing Committee for the 2025-2026 term. Previously, she was her APhA-ASP Chapter Policy Vice President, and represented her chapter as a delegate at the APhA-ASP House of Delegates.

At the state level, Kap is actively involved in the Georgia Pharmacy Association (GPhA) as a Student Leadership Board Member. She organized a student-led letter writing campaign to state senators in support of pharmacy benefit manager reform legislation, which was successfully passed into Georgia law. Her advocacy efforts focus on protecting independent pharmacies, promoting sustainability within the profession, and improving patient access to medications.

Beyond APhA-ASP, Kap serves as Chapter Vice President of the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP). She is also a member of AMCP and a semi-finalist in the 2026 AMCP P&T Competition.

Kap is passionate about harm reduction and addressing food insecurity. She volunteers with the Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition, Lost-N-Found Youth, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. She has work experience in independent pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and managed care. Additionally, she conducts research on student pharmacist perspectives on gender-affirming care alongside her research mentor. She will further develop her policy experience through an APPE rotation in Government Affairs with APhA.

Following graduation, Kap plans to pursue postgraduate residency training and continue serving as a leader and advocate within the profession of pharmacy.
