Jann Skelton serves as one of three Community Coordinators for Project IMPACT: Diabetes.  In this role, she provides mentoring, leadership and site coordination services to Community Champions in nine participating communities: CrossOver Health Care Ministry, Fink’s Pharmacy, Price Chopper Pharmacy, The Daily Planet, the University of Mississippi and Diabetes Care Group, Variety Care, West Virginia Health Right, Wichita Public Schools and Dillons Pharmacy, and Zufall Health Center.

Skelton has over 22 years of experience in health care advocacy, business strategy and communications. She has a diverse background working in pharmacy practice, health care consulting, pharmaceutical services and professional advocacy organizations. Her primary professional focus is developing innovative patient-care services that deliver value by synching patient needs with business objectives. 

Throughout her career, Skelton has served in many volunteer roles within the profession of pharmacy including the APhA Foundation Advisory Board and the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Visiting Committee. She is an adjunct faculty member for several schools and colleges of pharmacy. She also served as a senior staff member for the American Pharmacists Association for eight years.

Skelton has authored numerous professional journal publications related to outcomes of projects and programs she developed in the areas of patient safety, immunizations, Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from West Virginia University in 1991 and her Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University in 2000.
