
Improving Immunization Implementation through Quality Improvement


The APhA Foundation is pleased to announce new immunization implementation quality improvement grant opportunities, made possible through an independent grant from Merck & Co., Inc.
The goal of this initiative is to equip pharmacy residents with practical guidelines, best practices, and actionable ideas for designing and completing quality improvement projects focused on immunization workflow.
Recipients will receive a $5,000 grant to generate meaningful and sustainable improvements at pharmacy practice sites nationwide by strengthening immunization workflows, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving the effectiveness of vaccine delivery services.
Recipients will be invited to APhA’s annual meeting (APhA2028) to present their projects to fellow residents and practicing pharmacists in the form of a Continuing Education program. Recipients will recieve travel stipends for APhA2028 registration, travel, and hotel.
Application Procedure
The application process requires a completed application form and project proposal. Please complete the online application and submit a copy of your proposal as a PDF or word document. All application materials must be submitted by 11:59 PM PT on September 1, 2026. Project proposals should not exceed seven typewritten pages (any submission greater than 7 pages will be truncated) and should contain the following:
Title and general project description
Objectives and evaluation strategy to determine if objectives are met
Project methods
Timetable for implementation and completion of project
Budget discussion including total costs and justification of adequate resources to conduct the project
Grant Requirements
All recipients are responsible for submitting a brief interim report, a final project report, and a final expense report to the APhA Foundation.
