Michael Moné APhA-ASP Speaker Award
The Michael A. Moné APhA-ASP Speaker Award was established in 2024. This award acknowledges the leadership and many endeavors aimed at advancing policy by the Speaker of the APhA-ASP House of Delegates during their term in office. Furthermore, the award recognizes the significant personal and professional commitment by the APhA-ASP Speaker of the House to advance the profession of pharmacy. The individual is awarded a $1,000 stipend.
About Michael Moné
Michael A. Mone, BS Pharm, JD, FAPhA
Mr. Moné is Principal at Michael A Moné and Associates where he provides advice on an array of pharmacy statutory, regulatory, and risk management issues. He previously was Vice President and Associate General Counsel – Regulatory with Cardinal Health. Mr. Moné is a pharmacist and an attorney and has worked with the Florida Board of Pharmacy, USP, the Florida Attorney General, and the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Pharmacists Association, the Florida Pharmacy Association, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. Mr. Moné's most valued volunteer contributions are his service as Parliamentarian to the APhA-ASP House of Delegates and to the APhA Institute on Substance Use Disorders where he has been able to engage with a diverse population of students and practitioners. Mr. Moné received his Juris Doctorate and BS in pharmacy at the University of Florida and was given an Outstanding Pharmacy Alumnus award. In 2019, Mone was honored with the APhA Hubert H. Humphrey Award for government service. He was most recently awarded the Joseph L. Fink III Founders Award by the American Society for Pharmacy Law for sustained and outstanding service and contributions to the professions of pharmacy and law.

The Michael A. Moné APhA-ASP Speaker Award is presented annually to one (1) recipient in the amount of $1,000.
​To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Enrolled as a student pharmacist in good standing at an accredited school or college of pharmacy;

Membership within APhA-ASP;

Service as the APhA-ASP Speaker of the House of Delegates;

Commitment to upholding the values and principles exemplified by APhA and the APhA-ASP National Executive Committee; and
-
Demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for policy development in pharmacy-related activities.
