John Beckner

Director, Pharmacy and Health Services, Ukrop's Super Markets, Inc.

Beckner has supported Ukrop’s role in several APhA Foundation projects, including involvement in Project ImPACT: Hyperlipidemia SM, and Project ImPACT: Osteoporosis SM. Additionally, he has supported his staff’s involvement with other Foundation programs such as the Incentive Grants and the Advanced Practice Institute.

According to Brian Isetts, President of the APhA Foundation, “Through his Foundation project involvement, John has been instrumental in establishing and expanding the collaborative relationships and affiliations with physicians, physician provider groups, and third party payers required for the advancement of pharmaceutical care.”

Isetts continues, “John Beckner has played a key role in Virginia, heightening public awareness of the collaborative role of the pharmacist and demonstrating those benefits through the Ukrop’s pharmacies’ participation in wellness screenings, immunizations, and disease management services.” Under his direction, Ukrop’s immunized over 18,000 patients in the Richmond, Virginia community during the 1999-2000 flu season.
