Implementation of Long-Acting Injectables Services at a Regional Grocery Chain

By empowering pharmacists to administer long-acting injectables within the community setting, we can transform accessibility, strengthen adherence, and redefine how continuity of care is delivered.
My motivation for this project comes from seeing how many patients struggle to stay consistent with their medications, not because they don’t want to get better, but because life gets in the way. Working in the community pharmacy setting has shown me how pharmacists can bridge that gap and make care more accessible and personal. I want to help create a process that allows patients to receive long-acting injectable medications easily and reliably right where they already trust us most, in their local pharmacy.
I’m most excited about the opportunity to expand the role of community pharmacists in improving medication adherence and access to care. This project allows me to turn a real-world challenge of missed or delayed doses into an actionable solution that benefits both patients and pharmacy teams. Receiving an Incentive Grant would help bring this vision to life and create a model that can be replicated across other community pharmacy settings.
