Influence of pharmacist-led interventions through Co-Visits on provider satisfaction

Mary Louise Andersen.png

The motivation for pursuing this research reflects how the growing complexity of medication management and patient care demands a collaborative approach that goes beyond traditional practice boundaries. Providers often face overwhelming workloads, administrative pressures, and limited time to address the full spectrum of patient needs. By integrating pharmacists into clinical Co-Visits, we have an opportunity to redefine teamwork in healthcare—transforming the provider–pharmacist relationship into a dynamic partnership that enhances efficiency, reduces burnout, and ultimately improves patient outcomes.

What excites me most about this project is its potential to reshape how healthcare teams work together. Empowering pharmacists to share their expertise directly within patient encounters can not only improve care quality but also increase professional satisfaction and renew passion for practice. I am most honored to receive an Incentive Grant to explore how collaborative care is not just an operational enhancement—it’s a catalyst for a more sustainable, fulfilling, and patient-centered healthcare system.
