“This project aims to shed light on the misconceptions and gaps in awareness about vaping among college students, with the ultimate goal of enhancing community pharmacy smoking cessation programs. By understanding students’ knowledge of vaping risks and the resources available to them, we can create targeted, evidence-based interventions that improve public health outcomes for young adults.

The motivation behind this project was to address the growing prevalence of vaping among young adults and the lack of awareness surrounding its health risks. Many existing smoking cessation programs in community pharmacies focus primarily on traditional cigarettes, leaving a gap in targeted support for vaping cessation. By evaluating students’ knowledge and misconceptions about vaping, this project seeks to inform and improve pharmacy-led cessation efforts to better serve this at-risk population.

I am truly honored to receive this Incentive Grant, as it provides a valuable opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health by addressing the critical knowledge gaps surrounding vaping among young adults. This grant will enable pharmacists to broaden our research and implement targeted interventions, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of community pharmacy-led cessation programs and empowering students to make more informed decisions about their health.”
