
Winnie Landis, BSPharm, FAPhA

Academic Journey
Winifred (Winnie) Landis’s journey began at Purdue University, where she earned her BS in Pharmacy in 1981. Winnie has remained deeply connected to Purdue University College of Pharmacy. She is a former member of the Dean’s Advisory Council and has served as a steering committee member for Pharmacy Women for Purdue. In 1994, Winnie was recognized as a Purdue University College of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni, further cementing her lasting legacy at the college.
Career Journey
Winnie started her career with Albertsons/Osco Drug and later, she was employed by CVS. With both companies, she served as a pharmacy manager for many years. In addition, she earned her certification as a diabetes educator, further solidifying her commitment to patient care and community pharmacy. Winnie recently retired after an outstanding career.
Winnie’s leadership extended beyond community practice. At the state level, she served as President of the Indiana Pharmacy Association (IPA) in 1992 and served as a board member of the IPA Pharmacists Education Foundation. Her contributions to the profession were recognized in 1998 with the Bowl of Hygeia Award, a prestigious honor celebrating her leadership and dedication to community service. For 28 years (1995-2023), Winnie also served on the Indiana Board of Pharmacy – shaping the landscape of pharmacy practice in the state.
APhA Journey
On the national stage, her work with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) has been extensive. She is a proud fellow of the APhA and has held multiple significant roles, including serving as an officer with the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management Community/Ambulatory Practice Section. She also served as Chair of the APhA New Business Review Committee and served multiple terms on the APhA Board of Trustees. In 2007-2008, she served as APhA president.
