Yasmin Siwy

Yasmin Siwy is a fourth-year student pharmacist at Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Her decision to pursue a career in pharmacy was influenced by her father's life with a chronic illness that required extensive medications. Yasmin was inspired by her father's resilience, which led her to pursue a career in pharmacy, where she is dedicated to serving patients with the utmost empathy and skill, as if they were her own family.
She has been actively engaged with the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) since her first year of pharmacy school. Her journey began with involvement in her chapter, where she organized the Mr. Pharmacy Pageant as the Pharmacy Year 2 liaison, in addition to coordinating an undergraduate health fair and various point-of-care testing events for graduate students while serving as the Patient Care Vice President. As a dedicated chapter member, she participated in multiple APhA Annual Meetings, Midyear Regional Meetings, and Summer Leadership Institutes. Currently, Yasmin holds a position as a member of the National Communication Standing Committee in APhA-ASP.
She also participates in several pharmacy organizations, such as Phi Lambda Sigma and the Purdue University College of Pharmacy Peer Mentoring Program. With a strong commitment to leadership and mentorship, she has spent five years guiding first-year college students to personal and professional success. After graduation, she hopes to continue empowering individuals to embrace their true selves and step outside of their comfort zones. Yasmin's professional interests include patient-centered care, medication safety, and academia.
