University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy 

 

Tia Belvin is a 4th-year student pharmacist at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Before pharmacy school, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry focusing on Biochemistry from the University of Florida.

During her time as a student pharmacist, Tia has been actively involved in the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists. Since her first year of pharmacy school, she has served as APhA-ASP UNC Operation Heart Coordinator, UNC Chapter President, Region 3 Regional-Member-at-Large, and currently serves as the Chair of the National Member Engagement Standing Committee where she acts as the Operation Substance Use Disorders liaison. She has attended APhA Annual Meetings, Midyear Regional Meetings, and Student Leadership Institutes. Additionally, Tia completed the Experiential Program in Association Management & Leadership at APhA headquarters with the Government & Professional Affairs departments in Washington, DC this past Summer. 

 
Outside of involvement with APhA-ASP, Tia served as the Transitions of Care intern UNC Hospitals for 2 years where she staffed at the hospital’s network of outpatient pharmacies and completed longitudinal projects to improve patient care both during admission and upon discharge. Additionally, Tia interned at Protean LLC; a small biopharmaceutical consulting company focused on market access to specialty products. Tia’s professional interests include advocating for pharmacists and contributing to innovative drug development to advance pharmacy practice and patient care.
