2023 Scholarship Recipients

University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy 

 

Shay Roth is a student at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a Doctorate of Pharmacy with a concentration in Global Health (Anticipated April 2024) and member of the Pharmacotherapy Scholars Program, a selective pre-residency program involving focused coursework, clinical rotations, & longitudinal research. Shay graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2022. Originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Shay was born and raised in Western PA.

Shay is also the co-author and illustrator of two Pharmacy Children’s Books, “All Aboard the Rx-Express!” and “Diabetes, Pharmacy, and Me! Understanding Childhood Diabetes.” Shay has worked in the community, hospital, and medical communications settings, and is excited to see where her future career will take her!

At Pitt Pharmacy, Shay serves as Class Representative for the PharmD Class of 2024, Vice President of Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, and a member of the executive boards of the American Pharmacists’ Association Academy of Student Pharmacists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, The Pennsylvania Pharmacists’ Association, and The
Rho Chi Honor Society. Shay also works for the Frederick Honors College at Pitt, is involved in several research projects, and is a brother of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.

Outside of pharmacy school, Shay loves to spend her time drawing, playing piano, and rescuing animals. Shay would like to thank her family for their endless support over the years in whatever she has chosen to do, as well as thank the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy for all of the opportunities they have granted her.
