2023 Scholarship Recipients

University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy 

 

Samantha Freiter is a third-year student pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. 

Samantha has been actively involved in the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists throughout pharmacy school. She currently serves as APhA-ASP chapter president and chapter delegate. As a chapter leader, she has attended multiple APhA Annual Meetings, Summer Leadership Institutes, and Midyear Regional Meetings. In the summer of 2022, Samantha served as the Carl F. Emswiller Summer Intern at APhA headquarters in Washington, DC where she participated in strategic planning with the Student Development team, advocated for pharmacy practice on Capitol Hill, and planned programming for Summer Leadership Institute. She is also involved in other pharmacy associations including the Rho Chi Honors Society and Lambda Kappa Sigma Fraternity 

Outside of her involvement with APhA, Samantha serves as a Class Representative at the School of Pharmacy and is actively involved in planning School of Pharmacy events and initiatives. Her professional interests include pharmacy practice advancement and clinical research. Samantha is excited to further her education through future opportunities and looks forward to utilizing these experiences to increase access to quality healthcare and safe medications.
