Mirna Ayman Elsheemy

Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy - Long Island University Brooklyn Campus

Mirna Ayman Elsheemy is a third-year pharmacy student at LIU Pharmacy, where she graduated with a Bachelor's in Pharmaceutical Sciences with Cum Laude Honors. She has been actively involved in student activities during her time in pharmacy school. She has held office as treasurer of Phi Lambda Sigma (Pharmacy Leadership Society), president of the Pharmacy Student Leadership Council, and chapter president of APhA-ASP at LIU Pharmacy. In addition, Mirna planned a number of outreach activities, such as vaccination clinics, brown bag counseling, and volunteer work at a pediatric hospital.

As the president of Project Sunshine last year, she oversaw the recruitment of students who wanted to work in the healthcare field and we volunteered at the Brookdale Family Care Center to help pediatric patients in underserved areas. Her goal in taking on these leadership roles is to encourage students to get involved in their community so they may socialize and network with other people in the pharmaceutical industry.

Apart from my educational endeavors, she has worked as an intern at Walgreens Retail Pharmacy for four years and at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Hospital for two years. Her long-term aspiration is to pursue a career in academia, teaching pharmacy students. Mirna plans to apply for PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency programs in the future to contribute to the education and development of aspiring pharmacists.
