Shenandoah University Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy

My name is Leeann Williamson, and I am a third-year student pharmacist at Shenandoah University. I grew up in Roanoke, VA. I have wanted to become a pharmacist since I was in the eighth grade, because my grandmother suffered from a chronic disease state that required a lot of care and medications. I learned of the role that pharmacists can play to translate the medical jargon that physicians use to optimize patient understanding and therefore autonomy in their care.

I went to Shenandoah University for my undergraduate education and graduated in 2020 with a B.S. in Chemistry. I started pharmacy school in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, which was challenging to say the least. I obtained my Master of Business Administration in May of 2022 and plan to graduate in May 2024 with my PharmD and Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine. During pharmacy school, I have become involved in APhA-ASP, ASHP, Rho Chi, Phi Lamba Sigma, Phi Delta Chi, and Omicron Delta Kappa. Upon graduation, I hope to be able to pursue a residency.
