Sara Massey

Sara Massey, originally from the small town of Neosho, Missouri, is a final-year student pharmacist at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy in Kansas City, Missouri. At a local level, she served the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) as Chapter President and Class Representative. At a national level, Sara serves as the Chair of the APhA-ASP National Standing Committee on Communications. In addition to her involvement with APhA, Sara is actively involved in the American College of Clinical Pharmacists Women's Health PRN, Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Greater Kansas City Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Rho Chi, and Phi Lambda Sigma. She also recently completed the 2017 AACP Walmart Scholars Program. At this time, Sara is currently employed as a student research assistant at the UMKC School of Pharmacy and works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs on academic research.

Following graduation, Sara hopes to complete a PGY1 and specialize with an emphasis in academia in hopes of continuing to make an impact on the future of pharmacy by mentoring and teaching student pharmacists. She would like to thank professors, mentors, family, and friends for continuously encouraging her to follow her dreams and to begin her legacy.
