APhA Foundation Announces 2017-2018 Executive Resident

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation has announced Jing Wu as the 2017-2018 Knowlton Center Executive Resident in Association Management and Leadership. The residency, created by the Knowlton Foundation through the Center for Pharmacist-Based Health Solutions, seeks to prepare the next generation of leaders in the pharmacy profession. Wu will begin her year-long residency in June 2017 at APhA Foundation headquarters in Washington, D.C. As the executive resident, she will participate in a broad range of association management experiences and initiatives.

Wu, a final-year student pharmacist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in Madison, Wisconsin, was selected based upon her leadership qualities and commitment to the advancement of the pharmacy profession. Wu is a dual degree Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health candidate. She has been active in state and national pharmacy associations, Multicultural Affairs Program in Pharmacy (MAPP), Phi Lambda Sigma, and has also served on the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy Student Senate.

Wu places great value in patient empowerment and strives to create supportive, inclusive, and compassionate communities for patients. She is enthusiastic about public health and aims to improve healthcare infrastructure through collaborative practice. In 2014, Wu received the Walgreens Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Scholarship for her work promoting diversity and inclusion awareness on campus.
