During her time in pharmacy school, Shirly has been passionately involved in the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists and it has played a vital role in her growth as a student pharmacist. She serves as the Chapter President and as a member of the National Standing Committee on Communications. She has attended Midyear Regional Meetings (MRM) and Annual meetings.

Outside of school, Shirly enjoys volunteering at Equal Access Clinic, which is a student-run free clinic aimed to serve the underserved population, as well as the opportunity to prepare and administer vaccines to frontline workers and the elderly population at several COVID-19 vaccine clinics. She is engaged in various community service projects and hopes to improve access to healthcare within her community. In her free time, Shirly likes to listen to music and podcasts, cooking, and checking out new restaurants in town.
Shirly’s professional interests include oncology and pharmacogenomics and plan to pursue a health-system pharmacy administration residency post-graduation. Shirly is grateful to her family, friends, and mentors for their unwavering support in her endeavors as a life-long learner in this rewarding profession.
