APhA Foundation announces 2023–2024 Board of Directors

Washington, DC — The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation is announcing the appointment of one new Director and the newly elected Officers of the Board of Directors. Installed at the Foundation’s Contributors’ Breakfast during the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Phoenix, AZ, each Director serves for three years and offices are held for a term of one year.

Valentino Caruso, PharmD, RPh, incoming director, joins existing Directors Nancy A. Alvarez, PharmD, BCPS, and Elizabeth G. Johnson, PharmD, and the following newly elected officers:

President                    Anjanette Wyatt, BSPharm, PharmD

Vice President           Mallory Ward

Treasurer                   John D. Grabenstein, RPh, PhD, ScD (Hon)

Secretary                    Ilisa BG Bernstein, PharmD, JD, FAPhA

Valentino Caruso, PharmD, RPh, is a CVS pharmacist in Hamden, CT. Outside of direct patient care, he has a long track record of philanthropy involving patients with disabilities, early childhood education, and supporting diversity, equity, and justice in pharmacy. Caruso is a proud alumnus of the University of Connecticut, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Tufts University. He resides outside New Haven with his wife, Sara, and son, Max.

“We are grateful to have such a talented team of leaders on the Board of Directors,” said Benjamin Bluml, RPh, APhA Foundation executive director and SVP, Research & Innovation. “We look forward to the contributions they each will make in guiding our mission to advance pharmacists’ patient care services. We also extend our thanks and appreciation to Gary Kadlec, who completed his term as Treasurer, for his service and commitment to our mission.”
