2024 Incentive Grant Recipient

2024 Incentive Grant Recipient: Mariana Proffitt, PharmD

Project Proposal: Impact of Pharmacy Technicians Utilizing Immunization Information Systems (IIS) in a Large Community Pharmacy Chain on Vaccine Administration Rates

Mariana Proffitt is a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Resident with her alma mater, University of Cincinnati College or Pharmacy, and Kroger Health in Cincinnati, OH.

"Pharmacists are essential health care workers who provide quality care to patients. To enhance the pharmacist patient relationship, I wanted to improve our approach to making strong vaccine recommendations. Involving technicians will expand their role helping to create a more efficient work environment and allow pharmacies to protect more patients from preventable diseases."

"I am so excited for pharmacies to be even more active in counseling patients on recommended vaccines and educating patients on preventive care by receiving vaccinations. I look forward to the pharmacy teams working together to create healthier lives for our patients."
