Olivia Welter received her pharmacy education from Drake University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. As a student pharmacist, Olivia was heavily involved with Iowa Pharmacy Association where she served on multiple policy committees and additionally completed an Executive Internship with the organization in 2019. She also enjoyed being a student leader within her chapter of APhA-ASP as the Generation Rx Vice President and an active policy committee member.
Olivia is passionate about health policy and has used this passion to complete a legislative internship with the Iowa State House of Representatives in 2020. She aims to be a lifelong advocate for patients and the profession of pharmacy, as well as a mentor for future pharmacists.
"I can already tell how drastically my experience with APhA Foundation as Executive Fellow will impact my future career. The most valuable part of this program is the opportunity to connect with pharmacy stakeholders nationally, including our Board of Directors, the APhA Board of Trustees, and any other VIPs who decide to visit the world home of pharmacy. Through managing three of the primary Foundation programs, I have been able to discover new mentors and new passions. I know that my newfound experience with managing people, partners, and programs will be invaluable as I transition into the next step of my career.”
