2022 Incentive Grant Recipient

2022 Incentive Grant Recipient: Jeremy Dow, PharmD, MSW

Project Proposal: Pharmacist Impact on Gaps in Statin Therapy in Patients with Diabetes Located in Areas with High Social Vulnerability

Jeremy Dow, Pharm.D., M.S.E., currently serves as the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident at the USC School of Pharmacy and Ralphs Pharmacy in Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate of University of Southern California School of Pharmacy.

"The Incentive Grant is an amazing opportunity to further pursue my career interests and innovate the pharmacy profession."

Jeremy was motivated to pursue this research project because he is passionate about increasing access to healthcare for everyone. In many communities, especially those comprised of racial or ethnic minorities and people with lower income, access to healthcare is more challenging. This project is a great opportunity to provide equitable care by strategically targeting gaps in appropriate medication therapy for those who need it most.

"I am most excited about the opportunity to showcase how pharmacists have an integral role in improving patient care by addressing social determinants of health. Highlighting the benefits of MTM services on a broader scale can prompt other healthcare providers to advocate for its use and encourage patients to utilize the service more frequently."
