2022 Incentive Grant Recipient

2022 Incentive Grant Recipient: Madysen Moore, PharmD

Project Proposal: Assessing the Effects of Pharmacist Education on Colon Cancer Screening and Access to a Stool-Based DNA Test

Madysen Moore, PharmD currently serves as the PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Resident with the University of Kansas and Balls Food Stores located at Hen House Pharmacy in Olathe, KS. She is a graduate of University of Kansas.

Being in healthcare, Mady has always been interested in exploring the why behind things. She is curious about patient knowledge, barriers, and perceptions of colon cancer screening.  Her hope is to identify an area for community pharmacists to provide education in an effort to increase screening, ultimately to catch cancer before it is too late, and lastly to assess the impact of pharmacist facilitation on screening uptake with the stool-based DNA test.

"I am honored to be an Incentive Grant recipient! I am excited to utilize the findings of this study to identify patient factors that pharmacists can educate and advance the mission of public health in the outpatient setting. I look forward to the opportunity of networking and learning from other Incentive Grant recipients."
