Project Proposal: Pharmacist Prescriptive Authority in Idaho: Assessing Delivery of New Health Services in Community Pharmacy

“With the recent law changes expanding prescriptive authority for pharmacists in Idaho, this study seeks to evaluate if patients are satisfied with the prescriptive services offered in the community pharmacy setting.  This study will also assess if patients are receiving care they otherwise would not have received due to increased access to care at the pharmacy.”

Michael Hembree, PharmD, currently serves as the PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Resident at Albertsons in Boise, ID.

Dr. Hembree hopes to determine the value patients place on new services provided in a community pharmacy setting and assess if a portion of the population is receiving medical care that otherwise would not have been received.
