Candidate Statement:

I appreciate, very much, the invitation to serve as a candidate for the APhA Foundation Board of Directors. This is clearly a unique opportunity to give back to a profession that has provided me with such professional richness during my 37 year career in pharmacy.

In many ways, service as a Foundation Director would represent a natural extension to the work I have pursued in this great profession over the past four decades. My role as a state pharmacy association executive in Iowa greatly enhanced my understanding and appreciation for the aspirations held by pharmacists and the value they can bring to an evolving health care system. The APhA Foundation, I believe, is well positioned to help facilitate that growth and I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to that effort.

My desire is to continue my work with inspiring people on important projects that will move our profession forward. In this regard, I believe the Foundation offers an exciting opportunity to further our professional goals and maximize the role pharmacists play in improving people’s health.

I believe that my professional experience and my service record as a board member for several non-profit organizations provides me with the necessary background to play a leadership role for the Foundation. Inspiring generosity and helping shape a proactive agenda for pharmacy are goals that I would bring to the Foundation’s Board.
