APhA Foundation Receives Double Honors

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation announced today it has received two distinct honors reserved for non-profits. The APhA Foundation was awarded the 2021 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the most complete source of information about U.S. charitable organizations.  The Foundation was also named a “2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading website for community recommendations of charities and other not-for-profit organizations.

“We are proud to receive recognition for our commitment to being transparent about our work and financial reporting as well as top rated endorsements from those who have direct experience with us – supporters, volunteers and program participants,” said APhA Foundation Executive Director, Mitchel C. Rothholz, RPh, MBA.

“These recognitions demonstrate trust and confidence in our mission to improve health of individuals and communities through pharmacists’ patient care services.  This is especially significant during this time when pharmacists and pharmacy team members are addressing public health and continuity of care needs of patients and the communities they serve,” Rothholz added.

For over 60 years, the APhA Foundation has consistently proven that patient health outcomes are positively impacted by pharmacists. The work of the APhA Foundation includes research and demonstration projects, scholarships for student pharmacists, grants that seed new practice models, and programs that celebrate advancements in quality patient care.
