STATEMENT

The APhA Flagpole Memorial was initially dedicated in 1948 and rises from a marble and granite base with a sculptured bronze drum  depicting six uniformed pharmacists from the Revolutionary War to World War II. Additions were made to the site in 1992 which form marble seats adjacent to the flagpole and a bronze relief depicting uniformed male and female pharmacists who served in the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force during the Korean, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf wars.

However in 2001 and 2003 the U.S. found itself in military combat again and the memorial needs to be updated. Pharmacists, members of their families, pharmacies, pharmacy associations, and the pharmaceutical or other related health care industry are urged to support this memorial update project through contributions or $25 to $1,000. Corporate contributions are also welcome.

Contributors have the option of designating the name of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician who has served or is serving in the Armed Forces, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Public Health and the Department of Veterans Affairs or simply supporting the project to honor all the great men and women pharmacists who have served have our country selflessly and courageously. The names of all contributors will also be appropriately recognized.

With your help, we can honor those pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who served during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Don't wait! Act today! Please donate to this worthy initiative!

Thank you to all of our contributors!
