Herbert Incentive Grant Fund

STATEMENT

The American Pharmacists Association Foundation established the Daniel A. Herbert Incentive Grant Award to be distributed under the Incentive Grants for Practitioner Innovation in Pharmaceutical Care awards program. The incentive grant, established by Daniel A. Herbert, is awarded annually to a community pharmacy resident or recent pharmacy graduate who is working to expand pharmacy services for which pharmacists are compensated.

The APhA Foundation has been awarding incentive grants to pharmacists since 1993. The program was established to provide pharmacists with seed money to implement an innovative pharmaceutical care project within their pharmacy practice or to expand an already existing project. Over the years, the program has helped foster the evolution of the pharmacists’ role into one of a health care provider responsible for managing and monitoring medication therapy in collaboration with physicians and patients.
