Community Health Ambassador Program

Serving Communities, Leading the Profession

The APhA New Practitioner Network (NPN) is proud to offer New Practitioners the opportunity to give back to their communities, enhance their communication skills, and promote pharmacist-provided patient care services.  The APhA Community Health Ambassador Program provides ready-made resources for New Practitioners to utilize through community presentations and education. As APhA Community Health Ambassadors, New Practitioners will first use APhA toolkits and videos to become versed in topics such as prescription drug abuse and the safe use of dietary supplements, and then use their expertise to provide essential education to patients in our communities who need it.

APhA also provides guidance on how to connect with community partners, allowing New Practitioners to improve patient outcomes by identifying and connecting with those who will most benefit from pharmacist education and care. The APhA Community Health Ambassador Program gives New Practitioners streamlined content they can immediately use to gain presentation experience, provide community service, and most importantly, make an impact in patients’ lives. Learn more about how to improve your community as a member of APhA by becoming a Community Health Ambassador today. Visit pharmacist.com for more details!

Community Health Campaigns

Generation Rx is brought to the APhA New Practitioner Network through a collaboration with the Cardinal Health Foundation, The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, and the APhA Foundation. Generation Rx is an educational program that increases public awareness of prescription medication abuse and encourages health care providers, community leaders, parents, teens, and college students to actively work to prevent abuse.

Participate in Generation Rx today.

With pharmacists as one of the most accessible and trusted members of the health care team, new practitioners have the opportunity to provide greater resources to their communities and their patients by providing education on the safe, appropriate use of dietary supplements. The presentation and resources are brought to the APhA New Practitioner Network with the support of Nature Made Nutritional Products and partnership of the APhA Foundation.
