Kayla Joyal is a second-year student pharmacist at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She currently serves as President-Elect of her local APhA-ASP Chapter, President of the Pharmacy Student Governing Organization, and sits on the mentoring committee for Phi Lambda Sigma. Previously, she served as the Region 1 APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting Coordinator from 2014-2015.

Kayla orginally joined APhA-ASP due to her passion for advocacy, as well as for patient care opportunities. Kayla values APhA-ASP as an organization to develop leadership and communication skills, advocacy experience, and friendships. Upon graduation, she aims to pursue a degree in transplant pharmacy to help improve the transition of care for this high-risk population. Kayla also plans to use her leadership and mentoring skills to encourage the next generation of student pharmacists to advance the profession by "living their why’s."
