Shiny Parsai

Shiny Parsai is a third year student pharmacist at The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, class of 2016. Shiny earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Master in Nutritional Sciences from Iowa State University. As a student pharmacist, Shiny has enjoyed participating in leadership, research and service opportunities. Shiny is an active member of APhA, ASHP, ACCP, Phi Lambda Sigma, and Iowa Pharmacy Association. She served as the APhA-ASP International Pharmaceutical Student Federation (IPSF) coordinator and developed several medical Spanish learning and service programs. Shiny was selected as a National Paul Ambrose Scholar and was awarded the University of Iowa Diversity Stimulus Award, Stanley Grant for International Research, and the Graduate & Professional Student Government Research Grant. 

Shiny looks forward to serving on the APhA National Standing Committee as the IPSF National Project Coordinator. She is also excited to start rotations and to participate in the Froedtert Hospital Longitudinal Rotation program. Her pharmacy interests include ambulatory care, administration, and research. She continues to advocate for the pharmacy profession and looks forward to working in a clinical setting. She hopes to work with an interdisciplinary team of health professionals with the goal of improving lives by addressing the current public health challenges, healthcare costs, and reforms in innovative ways.
