Sophia Yang

University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy

 

Sophia Yang is a third-year student pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy with a concentration in global health. She is actively involved in SSHP, LKS, APhA-ASP, and PPA, and has completed pharmacy internships at Giant Eagle Pharmacy and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. She is also an Albert Schweitzer Fellow for Life, having completed the fellowship in 2013-2014. Her fellowship project involved leading health groups at the local jail. 

Last summer, Sophia completed a JRCOSTEP assignment with the US Public Health Service stationed with the Division of Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps within the Office of the Surgeon General. She will complete a second JRCOSTEP tour later this year with the Indian Health Service in Eagle Butte, SD.

Upon graduation, Sophia hopes to commission as an officer in the US Public Health Service and support its mission to protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of the Nation.
