Joshua Honaker is a 4th year student pharmacist at Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy. Prior to pharmacy school, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medicinal & Biological Chemistry with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Science.
Currently, Joshua is on executive committees for a student chapter of Personalized Medicine Coalition and National Community Oncology Dispensing Association. He also serves as a sitting member of the Phi Lambda Sigma national programming committee. Joshua is a member of APhA and attended the 2023 Institute on Substance Use Disorder with plans for continued engagement.
Outside of pharmacy, he is heavily engaged with ONU's theater arts program, working in lighting design for two productions each year. He is currently a Newman Civic Fellow for his continued work in LGBTQ advocacy in Ohio and is working to develop a transgender healthcare module to improve the accessibility of healthcare for this community.
At the university, he is the founder of the Student Academic Success Seminar cocurricular program where he and team of seven students taught a first semester student-lead eight-week course where first year students were taught time-management, study, self-management, and system sustainability skills to improve student class pass rates among first year pharmacy students. His current interests include multi-site independent ownership and academia.Â
