Alex Shantiai (he/him/his) is a third-year student pharmacist with the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Florida International University. With his chapter, he has served as the Policy Vice President, PVP-elect, and P1 Liaison. He has ultimately been grateful to meet so many students with the last three Region 3 Midyears, Summer Leadership Institutes, and APhA Seminars.
During his time as a student pharmacist, Alex has been a passionate advocate for policy and legislative affairs serving on multiple councils with state associations (FPA & FSHP), NACDS RXImpact Day, ASHP Virtual Legislative Day, Pharmacy Legislative Week, and as a state association liaison for Palm Beach Atlantic University. With APhA he has promoted resolutions, proclamations, grassroots initiatives, and letter-writing campaigns. This year, Alex has appreciated the opportunity to serve as a member on the National ASHP Council on Pharmacy Management, on the Phi Lambda Sigma Programming Committee, and regional officer for the Southeast Province of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc.
Additionally, Alex has served as his Class of 2023 President, as well as leadership roles in IPHO and ASHP. He plans to pursue the field of regulatory affairs in industry, but he truly wishes to stay connected with the legislative missions of our national organizations and continue the work with the state associations. Alex is faithful to God, and will fulfill the role of a servant leader to support and love all those who need a helping-hand.
