Project Proposal: Vaccination Approval Literacy and Its Effects on Intention to Receive Future COVID-19 Immunization

Liz Carmosino, PharmD, currently serves as the PGY1 Community Pharmacy Resident with the University of Kansas & Balls Food Stores located at Hen House Pharmacy in Olathe, Kansas.

The motivation behind my project proposal stemmed from my time working during the COVID-19 pandemic and the frequent questions from patients about the COVID-19 virus and vaccine. In my experience, pharmacists are well positioned to engage in immunization discussions with their patients and correct misinformation in their communities. My hope is to identify and address concerns to promote the COVID-19 vaccine prior to its release.

I am extremely grateful and excited to receive this grant! I look forward to identifying an area of vaccination hesitancy that could be addressed prior to a COVID-19 vaccine release and may result in higher vaccination rates.
