Brady Hecht

Project Proposal: Analysis of Prior Authorization Success and Timeliness at a Community-based Specialty Care Pharmacy.

Brady Hecht, Pharm D currently serves as the PGY1 Community Pharmacy Resident at Realo Specialty Care Pharmacy in Morrisville, North Carolina. Dr. Hecht graduated from the University of Connecticut.

The growth of specialty prescriptions brings the burden of prior approvals for patients to receive their medications. Specialty pharmacists have the clinical training and prescription knowledge to effectively evaluate and complete prior authorizations and help expedite the process for our patients.

Dr. Hecht's role in prior authorization management has allowed himto get closer with provider offices due to the increased communication associated with completing these services. He feel this is a marketable service that can help grow the relationship between doctor offices and pharmacies.

"I am grateful to receive this grant and to be given the opportunity to work with a group of pharmacists who are constantly pushing each other to enhance the services we offer to our community. I am excited to bring independent specialty pharmacy into the spotlight to showcase the services that distinguish us and how that can benefit both patients and prescribers alike."
