Project Proposal: Advancing Pharmacy Technician Roles to Increase Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccination Rates in a Community Pharmacy Setting

Brenna Neumann, Pharm.D. RPh currently serves as the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Collier Drug Stores, Inc in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy.

She shares that Collier Drug Stores has identified the need for additional technician training opportunities as a strategy for enhancing patient care experience at our pharmacies, and past targeted pharmacist training opportunities have resulted in expanded immunization services at Collier Drug Stores. Brenna believes the logical next step in expanding the number of vaccines delivered is to offer targeted training for support staff.

"Collier Drug Stores strives to be recognized as an immunization center of excellence in Northwest Arkansas. The APhA Foundation Incentive Grant will allow Collier Drug Stores an opportunity to improve the way immunization services are delivered to our patients. I am excited for the opportunity to offer advanced training for our support staff.  Technicians provide front line support for our patients."
