Project Proposal: Utilization of a vaccination history screening during comprehensive medication reviews in an independent community pharmacy setting

“Through my research, I hope to advance patient understanding about the importance of being vaccinated.  My end goal for this is to help raise vaccination rates in the local community by closing vaccination gaps identified during comprehensive medication reviews.”

Erin Drake, PharmD, currently serves as the PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Practice Resident at Topeka Pharmacy/ Purdue University College of Pharmacy in Topeka, IN. Dr. Drake hopes to determine an association between vaccination history screening during comprehensive medication Reviews (CMR) and vaccination rates in the CMR population at an independent, community pharmacy.

“It is my whole-hearted belief that pharmacists are in the best position for having an impact on the entirety of a patient’s care.  When this is streamlined with pharmacist efficiency, patients and pharmacists alike can both benefit.”
