Deadline for applications is October 15, 2008

The APhA Foundation will award grants in the amount of $1,000 for projects to be initiated for pharmacists in all community/ambulatory practice settings.  The grants provide seed money to help pharmacy residents and their preceptors explore new methods and services that enhance their role as healthcare providers, and to encourage them to share their experiences with other pharmacists.  The incentive grants program for residents is supported by AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and the Community Pharmacy Foundation.

The Incentive Grants program is intended to focus pharmacists’ attention on the need to re-engineer their practices along lines that incorporate more specific patient-centered services and enhance health care delivery with the use of today’s technology.  The project should concentrate on an innovative patient care service that is of significance to ambulatory pharmacy care settings and that can be evaluated for its relevance.
