APhA Foundation Incentive Grant Program receives boost from the Community Pharmacy Foundation
WASHINGTON, DC – The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation announced that the Community Pharmacy Foundation (CPF) increased funding in support of the APhA Foundation’s Incentive Grants for Practitioner Innovation in Pharmaceutical Care. This program provides seed money for innovative pharmacy-based projects. The additional funding bolsters the total number of CPF-matched individual incentive grants awarded from 9 to 14 for the 2018-2019 award cycle.
These Incentive Grants are awarded annually to community pharmacy residents to execute new or strengthen existing patient care services that improve the health outcomes of patients within their pharmacy practice site.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Community Pharmacy Foundation and are grateful for their increased funding and longtime commitment to this important program.” said Elizabeth K. Keyes, RPh, APhA Foundation Executive Director. “With the additional support, we are able to broaden the selection of innovative ideas and increase the patient care impact in even more communities in which the pharmacists serve.”
“The Incentive Grant program was one of my first assignments when joining the Community Pharmacy Foundation in 2004.” said Anne Marie (Sesti) Kondic, PharmD, CPF Executive Director. “It has been rewarding to continue the Incentive Grant partnership with the APhA Foundation to support future innovators in community pharmacy practice as well as cultivate new CPF grantees.”
Established in 1993, this is the 25th anniversary of the Incentive Grants Program and is the APhA Foundation’s longest running program. To date, the Program has awarded more than $500,000 grants for over 500 projects improving the health outcomes of thousands of patients across the country.
