Introducing Erica Wilkinson, a 2018 Incentive Grant Recipient!
Project Proposal: Evaluation of a Community Pharmacy Based Travel Clinic on Patient Education and Satisfaction

“I want to see pharmacists utilize collaborative practice agreements (CPAs) more regularly and become more involved in a clinic setting.”

Dr. Wilkinson is a PGY1 community pharmacy resident with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Realo Discount Drugs in Jacksonville, NC. She plans  to show the benefit of CPAs in community pharmacy settings to help pharmacists facilitate travel health services. The idea is to implement a travel clinic that would allow patients to obtain prophylactic oral medications, vaccines, over-the-counter supplies, and counseling for travel-related risks.

Erica Wilkinson believes her project will improve patient understanding and satisfaction, while saving patient time. She wants to “become a reference point for pharmacists in the surrounding area who want to explore collaborative practice in the future.”
